Project Name: Bedeck Limited

Alexander Irwin started manufacturing linen handkerchiefs way back in 1951, in Magheralin, Northern Ireland and Bedeck is still a family run business. It is now the UK market leader for branded bedding and bathroom products, working only with the very best brands and suppliers around the world creating the newest, most innovative product.

Bedeck needed to extend its warehouse and this project comprised a 15,000sq ft extension to the furnishings warehouse. The extension was completed whilst the remainder of the adjoining buildings were in full use.

CHP Mechanical Services advised that the optimum solution was to install biomass boilers along with Sabiana air heaters. The installation included thermal stores, pellet storage silos, auger delivery systems and associated pipework linking into the existing heating system.

As well as reducing their carbon footprint, the installation of biomass boilers reduced fuel bills.

Our company was contracted to carry out a complete heating system upgrade consisting of the following system elements:

  • 400kW of Biomass Boilers
  • Installation of 4 no 3,000Ltr Accumulation Tanks
  • Installation of an Underfloor Heating System
  • Hydraulic Connection to an existing heating system
  • Energy Saving Pumps
  • Plate Heat Exchangers
  • Thermal Insulation of the Heating Pipework System- insulated pumps & valve covers
  • BMS Automated Controls

From the initial site survey to the completion of this project, CHP were so helpful and carried out our company’s heating system upgrade to a very high standard and in a very professional and timely manner. The level of co-operation between the CHP team of installers and engineers was outstanding which in turn helped to avoid any disturbances to our daily production schedules-
